1. GOWISE Mobility has introduced the Narrow Tilting Trike platform. What inspired the development of this unique mobility concept for Indian roads?
The inspiration came from watching women, elderly and small business vendors struggle to balance their two-wheelers, gradually losing the confidence they had built over years of riding. It made me realize that millions of Indians silently face the same challenge every day, where declining balance and stability can limit their mobility, independence, and livelihood.
This isn’t just about senior citizens. Women riders, first-time riders, and even small vendors who depend on two-wheelers for their livelihood often struggle with balance, poor road conditions, and the constant fear of falling. Yet, their only alternatives are either conventional two-wheelers or expensive four-wheelers. We asked ourselves a simple question: Why should someone have to choose between affordability and safety?
That question led to the development of our Narrow Tilting Trike platform. It combines the compact footprint and agility of a two-wheeler with the stability and confidence of a larger vehicle. The platform is purpose-built for Indian roads, helping riders navigate potholes, uneven surfaces, and traffic while making mobility safer, more accessible, and more inclusive for every member of the family.
2. The BeiGo X4 is positioned as the “SUV of scooters.” What are the key features that differentiate it from conventional electric scooters?
We actually like to call the BeiGo X4 an RUV—Rugged Utility Vehicle, because it’s designed to do much more than what a conventional scooter offers. Most electric scooters today are optimized for speed or range. We chose to optimize for real-world usability.
First is Speed with Safety. Our twin-wheel narrow tilting technology delivers superior road grip and stability, allowing riders to confidently tackle potholes, broken roads, and slippery conditions during the monsoon—situations where conventional scooters often feel unstable.
Second is Accessibility. Many scooters are designed with sporty riders in mind. The BeiGo X4 is built so that anyone in the family—young adults, women, senior citizens, or first-time EV users—can ride it with confidence.
Third is Optimized Downtime. Instead of simply chasing a higher range, we focused on reducing the time the vehicle stays off the road through fast charging and universally accessible charging options.
Finally, we believe comfort should extend beyond the rider. That’s why we’ve engineered the vehicle to provide superior comfort and stability for both the rider and the pillion, making it ideal for family commuting.Ultimately, the BeiGo X4 is designed not just to move people, but to make everyday mobility safer, more practical, and more dependable.
3. Safety is a major focus in your vehicles with technologies like anti-topple design and self-balancing systems. How important is rider confidence in accelerating EV adoption?
Rider confidence is one of the biggest drivers of EV adoption.
Companies like Tata Motors have demonstrated that Indian consumers do care deeply about safety. We believe the same shift is now happening in the light electric mobility segment.
Nearly 80% of Indian households own a two-wheeler, while car ownership remains below 8%. Yet, when it comes to scooters—which are typically purchased by families seeking comfort, convenience, and practicality—there has been very little innovation focused on safety.
For scooter buyers, mobility isn’t about performance alone; it’s about bringing their family home safely every day.
That’s why our philosophy is “Family First.” Features like our anti-topple architecture, enhanced road grip, and self-balancing capabilities aren’t just engineering achievements—they remove anxiety from everyday commuting. When riders feel safer and more confident, they are far more likely to embrace electric mobility.
4. GOWISE is working on smart mobility technologies including connected systems and intelligent vehicle platforms. How do you see smart mobility evolving in India over the next few years?
Smart mobility is often confused with electrification, but the two are very different.
Electrification solves the emissions problem, while smart mobility is about making transportation more efficient, intelligent, and sustainable.
India doesn’t just need to reduce its carbon footprint—we also need to reduce our energy footprint and our road footprint. That requires right-sized, purpose-built vehicles instead of simply electrifying oversized ones.
The future lies in intelligent vehicles that communicate with each other, optimize traffic flow, improve safety, and make better use of infrastructure. However, these solutions must be affordable and practical.
The heavy-compute autonomous driving models developed in Western markets aren’t directly applicable to India’s highly dynamic traffic conditions. India needs smarter, lighter, and more cost-effective mobility technologies that are designed specifically for our unique environment.
5. The company emphasizes modular and scalable EV platforms. How can platform-based manufacturing help startups and OEMs reduce development time and costs?
Developing a completely new vehicle for every use case is both time-consuming and economically inefficient, especially in a price-sensitive market like India.
Our modular Narrow Tilting Trike platform provides a common engineering foundation that can be adapted for multiple applications—from family commuters to commercial logistics and utility vehicles.
By sharing core components, engineering architecture, and manufacturing processes, we significantly reduce R&D timelines, tooling investments, supplier complexity, and production costs.
For startups and OEMs, this means they can launch purpose-built vehicles much faster without starting from scratch every time. It accelerates innovation while making advanced mobility solutions more affordable and commercially viable.
6. iGOWISE is focused on sustainable and accessible urban transportation. What are the biggest mobility challenges the company aims to solve through its innovations?
One of the biggest inefficiencies in urban mobility today is that we often use large, energy-intensive vehicles to transport just one or two people. This not only wastes energy but also consumes valuable road space, contributing to congestion.
At iGOWISE, we’re addressing this challenge by promoting right-sized mobility.
Our slim, rugged utility vehicles are designed to deliver the practicality people need while consuming significantly less energy and occupying a much smaller road footprint.
By shifting mobility away from oversized vehicles toward efficient, purpose-built solutions, we can reduce congestion, lower energy consumption, and make transportation more sustainable without compromising on safety, comfort, or utility.
7. Looking ahead, what is iGOWISE Mobility’s long-term vision for redefining electric mobility and micro-mobility solutions in India?
Our vision extends far beyond building electric vehicles—we want to redefine how India experiences mobility.
We aim to solve fundamental transportation challenges not only in crowded cities but also in rural and semi-urban India, where practical, affordable, and durable mobility solutions are equally essential.
At the heart of our vision is the belief that safety and comfort should not be luxury features reserved for car owners. Every Indian deserves access to secure, reliable, and comfortable mobility, regardless of their budget.
