KPI Green Energy has provided an update on the execution progress of its Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio, which has reached a total capacity of 2.57 GWp. Of this, approximately 1.16 GWp has already been energised, while around 1.41 GWp remains under active execution. The company said the portfolio is strengthening its asset-backed IPP model, supported by long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), mostly with tenures of up to 25 years.
KPI Green has commissioned and commenced power injection from its 200 MW/240 MWp solar IPP project at Khavda Solar Park (South Block) in Gujarat. The project is among the early projects to become operational within the 1.8 GW solar park developed by GSECL and is connected under a long-term PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
The company has also achieved grid synchronisation and power injection ahead of schedule for its 50 MW/92.15 MWp hybrid renewable energy project, comprising 16.95 MW of wind capacity and 75.2 MWp of solar capacity. The project is connected to GUVNL under a long-term PPA, with the early synchronisation highlighting the company’s execution capabilities in hybrid renewable projects.
Under two long-term PPAs executed with GUVNL in October 2024, KPI Green is developing a combined 620 MW/1,027 MWp solar and hybrid renewable energy portfolio. Within this portfolio, the company has commissioned 180.70 MW/251.13 MWp of the 250 MW/350 MWp solar project on a phased basis, while the remaining capacity is under execution. In the 370 MW/677 MWp hybrid project, an additional 130 MW/195 MWp was energised in August 2026, taking the total commissioned capacity to 269.70 MW/389.70 MWp.
KPI Green is also progressing its wind portfolio, with a 150 MW wind project having recently achieved financial closure and scheduled for commissioning within the planned timeline. Meanwhile, the PPA signing process is underway for a separate 300 MW wind IPP project, which is expected to further expand the company’s wind capacity.
In energy storage, KPI Green subsidiary Sun Drops Energia has executed Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements (BESPA) with GUVNL for two standalone BESS projects with a cumulative capacity of 565 MW/1,130 MWh. The projects are expected to strengthen KPI Green’s presence in utility-scale energy storage and its ability to integrate renewable generation with grid-stability and energy-management solutions.
