AM Green Named Winner of Asian Lot in H2Global Auction Funded by German Government

AM Green Ammonia (India) Private Limited (“AM Green”) has been selected as the sole winner of the Asian lot in the H2Global auction run by HINT.CO GmbH (“Hintco”), securing a long-term purchase agreement for the supply of Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) ammonia to Germany.

The award follows a competitive bidding process in which AM Green’s offer was ranked first among the submissions received. Over a period of 10 years, Hintco will purchase ammonia from AM Green for a minimum value of EUR 585 million. Hintco may purchase additional quoted volumes from AM Green using proceeds generated from the resale of green ammonia in the European market.

The ammonia will be produced at AM Green’s Kakinada project (Phase 2) in Andhra Pradesh, India, where the company is converting an existing natural gas-based ammonia and urea production complex into a production facility using alkaline electrolysis technology. Electricity for the process will be supplied through AM Green’s unique round-the-clock renewable power architecture backed by pumped-hydro storage, in line with EU requirements.

First deliveries to Germany are expected in 2029, with the ammonia shipped from Kakinada Seaports, which sits directly alongside the plant.

The agreement marks a further step in AM Green’s development of large-scale renewable ammonia production in India and positions the company as a leading exporter of green molecules to Germany and the wider European market. For H2Global, the award underlines the role of double-auction mechanisms in de-risking early-mover projects and enabling final investment decisions. Through H2Global, Germany is helping build clean industries abroad while securing a reliable supply of renewable hydrogen-based products at home.

Timo Bollerhey, CEO of Hintco and Co-Founder of H2Global, said: “This result shows a market gaining rapid momentum. Strong bids from serious developers have demonstrated the growing maturity of renewable ammonia projects since the pilot tender. A long-term contract gives producers like AM Green the certainty to invest and secures reliable supply for European buyers. We thank every bidder and hope to see them in future rounds.”

Markus Exenberger, Executive Director of the H2Global Foundation and Co-Founder of H2Global, said: “Repeated disruptions to fossil fuel supply chains have been felt worldwide. Renewable ammonia carries clean power across oceans to industries that cannot be fully electrified, with little or no carbon emissions. H2Global is bringing together governments and industry to build resilient global supply chains for clean energy and commodities.”

Mahesh Kolli, Group President and JMD of AM Green, said: “We are immensely proud that AM Green has been selected as the winner of the H2Global Asian lot. This landmark achievement consolidates AM Green’s position as the supplier of choice for renewable ammonia to Germany and wider Europe, and demonstrates that optimally priced green molecules can be delivered from India at an industrial scale. Winning through a binding competitive process is a strong validation of the readiness of our platform. From Kakinada, we will deliver renewable ammonia to European and Asian customers, turning ambitious decarbonisation targets into real industrial emissions reductions. This is an important milestone for AM Green, and only the beginning of the role we intend to play in building a global market for renewable molecules.”

Hintco will publish the full results before the end of 2026, alongside those of other H2Global tenders (African, North American, and South American and Oceanian lots). To protect the integrity of ongoing tender processes, no further details will be shared until then. Hintco thanks all bidders for their participation, and the H2Global Foundation thanks its partners and supporters.

TrueRE Oriana Power Sells 110 MWp C&I Solar Portfolio to Actis for INR 501 Crore

TrueRE Oriana Power Limited has announced the sale of its 110 MWp commercial and industrial (C&I) solar portfolio to Actis at an enterprise value of ₹501 crore, marking the first transaction under the proposed divestment of approximately 238 MW of the company’s operational solar assets.

As part of the transaction, TrueRE Oriana Power has transferred its stakes in Truere Guj SPV Private Limited and Truere Current Private Limited to Actis, a global investor focused on sustainable infrastructure.

The transaction forms part of TrueRE Oriana Power’s asset recycling strategy, under which the company plans to selectively monetise operational renewable energy assets and redeploy the proceeds into new clean energy opportunities.

Anirudh Saraswat, Founder and Chief Business Officer of TrueRE Oriana Power, said the monetisation of the 110 MWp portfolio represents the first milestone in the company’s growing strategic partnership with Actis. He said the capital released through the transaction will support investments across solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), green fuels and emerging clean energy infrastructure.

The transaction builds on an existing partnership between TrueRE Oriana Power and Actis for the joint development of 1 GW of renewable energy assets. The collaboration combines TrueRE Oriana Power’s project development and execution capabilities with Actis’ investment expertise and financial resources.

TrueRE Oriana Power said its capital allocation strategy focuses on developing bankable clean energy assets, selectively monetising projects to recycle capital, strengthening its balance sheet and deploying funds into new growth opportunities.

The company is also pursuing its SCALE and Flywheel strategy, which includes expanding its integrated energy platform, building long-term ownership across generation and storage assets, deploying AI and robotics technologies and developing partnerships across emerging clean energy segments.

As part of its longer-term expansion plans, TrueRE Oriana Power has set FY30 targets of approximately 6 GW of solar EPC capacity, 2.5 GW of solar IPP capacity and 20 GWh of BESS, reflecting its plans to scale across renewable generation, energy storage and related clean energy infrastructure.

  • Rohit Sharma Joins Freyr Energy as its First Brand Ambassador; Launches ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’ Campaign

Rohit Sharma Joins Freyr Energy as its First Brand Ambassador; Launches ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’ Campaign

Freyr Energy, India’s second-largest residential rooftop solar company under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, today announced Rohit Sharma, India’s World Cup-winning captain, as its first-ever brand ambassador. The association launches with ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’, a nationwide campaign built on a simple idea: rooftop solar is a 30-year decision, and it deserves a company that delivers year after year.

The partnership brings together two records of consistency and benchmark-setting. Rohit Sharma has spent nearly two decades delivering at the highest level of international cricket, setting standards others now measure themselves against. Freyr Energy has done the same on India’s rooftops for more than a decade, designing, financing, installing and servicing 20,000+ solar systems across 40+ cities, and introducing industry firsts such as its customer app, self-cleaning solar systems and solar experience centres. The launch comes at a turning point for the category, with the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana bringing millions of Indian families to rooftop solar for the first time. Eligible households can access government subsidy support of up to ₹78,000, while financing options at low and competitive interest rates can further reduce the upfront financial burden of making the switch. A solar system is meant to perform for decades, long after installation day, so the real risk for a family is not whether to go solar, but whom to trust with it. ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’ is built to answer that question.

Saurabh Marda, Co-founder & Managing Director, Freyr Energy, said, “Our aim has always been to raise the bar for what Indian homeowners can expect from rooftop solar, not just on installation day but across the 30-year life of their system. Rohit has spent his career doing exactly that in cricket, which made him the natural choice as our first brand ambassador.”

Radhika Choudary, Co-founder & Director, Freyr Energy, said, “When a family puts solar on its roof, they are trusting a company for the next 30 years. That company has to show up every time and stand behind the family’s decision long after the system is switched on. ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’ says that in five words, and no one says it better than Rohit.”

Speaking about the association, Rohit Sharma, exclusively managed by RISE Worldwide, said, “Protecting the environment has been close to my heart for years. Rooftop solar gives families a chance to do their bit for the planet, and it’s important to have a partner you can trust for the journey. That’s what drew me to Freyr Energy. I’m happy to be part of their campaign, encouraging more families to embrace solar and choose a cleaner, more sustainable future.”

Rajan Mahalingam, Marketing Head, Freyr Energy, said, “‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’ is built to make Freyr the first name families think of when they consider rooftop solar. Rohit’s reputation for consistency and trust mirrors what we promise every customer, and that gives the campaign an authenticity audiences will connect with. We look forward to taking this message to millions of homes across India.”

The ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’ campaign, is led by a series of creatives and ad films from 30th September 2026.
