KP Energy Reports 137% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27, Records ₹521 Crore Total Income

KP Energy Limited, a leading Balance-of-Plant (BoP) provider for utility-scale wind and wind-solar hybrid projects, has reported strong financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, supported by continued growth in its renewable energy project execution business.

The company reported revenue from operations of ₹519 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹219 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, registering a 137% year-on-year increase. Total income stood at ₹521 crore, up 136% from ₹221 crore in Q1 FY26.

EBITDA increased 25% year-on-year to ₹62 crore, compared with ₹50 crore in Q1 FY26. Profit before tax rose 8% to ₹37 crore from ₹35 crore, while profit after tax (PAT) increased 3% to ₹26 crore, compared with ₹25 crore in the year-ago period. Basic EPS stood at ₹3.85, marginally higher than ₹3.81 in Q1 FY26.

The company’s total expenses increased to ₹459 crore during the quarter from ₹171 crore in Q1 FY26. Interest costs rose to ₹15 crore from ₹9 crore, while depreciation and amortisation increased to ₹9 crore from ₹6 crore.

KP Energy’s business continues to focus on the development and execution of wind and wind-solar hybrid projects across the renewable energy value chain. As of Q1 FY27, the company reported a total renewable portfolio of 3.73 GW, with 2.16 GW of projects in hand. Its total installed capacity stood at 1.57 GW, while its O&M portfolio reached 646 MW. The company’s operational IPP assets stood at 48.5 MW, with another 202 MW of IPP projects in hand.

KP Energy provides end-to-end capabilities spanning site identification, wind resource assessment, land aggregation, site preparation, engineering, construction, erection, commissioning, power evacuation, statutory approvals and operations and maintenance. The company also has in-house wind resource assessment capabilities supported by more than 45 wind masts, LiDAR technology and advanced wind-mapping software.

The company has also developed capabilities to install and commission 4–5 MW-plus wind turbines, supporting higher energy generation, improved land utilisation and project economics. Its Network Operations Centre provides real-time monitoring, diagnostics and control of KP Group’s renewable assets, with SCADA and AI-enabled monitoring of equipment including wind turbine generators and weather monitoring systems.

KP Energy highlighted the strong growth potential of India’s wind sector, noting that installed wind capacity reached 56 GW as of March 2026, following a record annual addition of 6.05 GW in FY26. Against an estimated national wind potential of around 1,164 GW, the company sees significant headroom for future development.

The company identified rising electricity demand, dedicated wind tenders, hybrid and round-the-clock renewable power projects, offshore wind development, repowering of ageing turbines and larger-capacity wind turbines as key growth drivers. India’s offshore wind programme also presents an emerging opportunity, with the government supporting development through a ₹7,453 crore viability gap funding scheme for 1 GW.

KP Energy is also positioned to benefit from the growing integration of wind, solar and energy storage, particularly as renewable projects increasingly focus on firm and dispatchable power.

The company said its broader growth strategy is supported by more than 15 years of project execution experience, secured grid connectivity and land banks, backward integration for support structures, in-house wind resource assessment and capabilities across the project lifecycle.

KP Energy’s parent KP Group currently has a renewable energy portfolio of 9.2 GW and has set a target of exceeding 10 GW of group capacity by 2030.

Dilip Buildcon to Divest Under-Construction Transmission and Solar Projects Worth INR 8,400 Crore to Alpha Alternatives

Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) has approved the proposed divestment of its stakes in Mekhali Power Transmission Limited and DBL Renewable Private Limited to Alpha Alternatives Fund Advisors LLP and/or its affiliates or funds managed by the firm. The combined total project cost of the assets is approximately ₹8,400 crore.

The company’s Board of Directors approved the proposal at its meeting held on August 10, 2026. The transaction involves two special purpose vehicles undertaking DBL’s under-construction power transmission and solar projects.

Mekhali Power Transmission Limited is developing a 400-kV substation and power transmission project spanning approximately 470 circuit kilometres in Belagavi district, Karnataka.

DBL Renewable Private Limited is developing a 1,363 MW AC / 1,977 MWp DC solar portfolio comprising 10 SPVs with solar assets located across Madhya Pradesh.

The consideration for the proposed transaction will be determined through a phased subscription and closing mechanism based on the terms agreed between the parties. Definitive agreements for the transaction have not yet been signed.

DBL said the proposed divestment is aimed at unlocking value from its infrastructure assets and advancing its strategy of developing an asset-light, multi-asset platform focused on recurring cash flows and capital recycling. The transaction is also expected to support the company’s efforts to deleverage and strengthen its balance sheet.
