    According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the village has witnessed widespread participation in the rooftop solar programme, with residents availing subsidies under the PM Surya Ghar scheme to install solar panels on their homes. The initiative is enabling households to generate their own electricity while contributing surplus power to the grid through the net-metering mechanism.

    The government said the success of Thenhi demonstrates how decentralised renewable energy can improve household energy security, reduce electricity bills and encourage sustainable development in rural areas. The village is being showcased as an example of the impact of the PM Surya Ghar initiative in accelerating rooftop solar adoption across the country.
