Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has invited bids for the development of a 265 MW/530 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Haryana. The tender covers the complete scope of the project, including design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance.
The project is planned for completion within 14 months from the award, with the successful bidder required to provide 12 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
Under the tender, bidders can qualify through two technical eligibility routes. Under the first route, companies must demonstrate experience in commissioning grid-connected BESS projects, renewable energy projects, or substation/switchyard infrastructure. The second route allows eligibility based on experience in manufacturing and supplying batteries of the proposed technology, subject to specified capacity and operational requirements.
For financial eligibility, bidders must have a positive net worth for the last three financial years and a minimum average annual turnover of ₹191.39 crore based on the best three years out of the previous five financial years. They must also demonstrate liquid assets or available credit facilities of at least ₹91.14 crore.
The tender document carries a fee of ₹25,000. The deadline for bid submission is August 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with techno-commercial bids scheduled to be opened at 11:30 AM the same day.
The Haryana BESS project is expected to contribute to the expansion of the state’s energy storage infrastructure while supporting greater grid flexibility and the integration of renewable power.
