    Triveni Engineering Appoints Vivek Viswanathan as Whole-time Director

    Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd (TEIL) has appointed Vivek Viswanathan as Additional Director, Whole-time Director and Key Managerial Personnel, strengthening its leadership team following the completion of the amalgamation of Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises Ltd (SSEL) with the company.

    The appointment is effective August 1, 2026, for a five-year term, subject to shareholder approval at the company’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

    Viswanathan brings more than 20 years of experience in the sugar and distillery industry. He previously served as Joint Managing Director of Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises, where he was responsible for operations spanning manufacturing, supply chain, cost management, turnaround initiatives and strategic execution.

    His appointment comes as Triveni Engineering moves to integrate the operations of the erstwhile SSEL business following the completion of the Composite Scheme of Arrangement. His familiarity with the acquired business is expected to support the integration process and help the company capture operational and business synergies.

    In his new role, Viswanathan will contribute to the company’s operational and strategic priorities, with a focus on improving efficiency, supporting integration and strengthening the performance of the expanded business.

    Tarun Sawhney, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Triveni Engineering & Industries, said Viswanathan’s industry experience and knowledge of the former SSEL operations would support the company’s efforts to integrate the expanded business and improve operational performance.

    The appointment comes as Triveni Engineering continues to strengthen its position across the sugar, ethanol and water and wastewater management businesses, with the integration of SSEL adding further operational scale to its portfolio.

    Viswanathan is an alumnus of St Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, the International Management Institute, New Delhi, and Columbia University, New York.

     L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions has secured a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from NTPC Ltd for the main plant package of the 2×800 MW Lara Stage-III thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh. The Notice to Proceed will be granted once the project secures environmental clearance and the LNTP period is completed.

    The project entails the construction of two state-of-the-art 800 MW ultra-supercritical generating units. L&T’s scope encompasses the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Boilers, Steam Turbines, Generators, Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs), Air Cooled Condensers (ACC) and their auxiliaries, along with associated mechanical, electrical, control & instrumentation and civil works.

    The tasks will be executed on an EPC basis using ultra-supercritical technology, which offers higher efficiency and lowers specific emissions. Once commissioned, the plant will add 1,600 MW of reliable baseload generation capacity to India’s grid, helping meet the country’s growing electricity demand driven by industrial expansion, urbanisation and infrastructure development.
